Farragut runs roughly from Cortelyou Road down to the Bay Ridge branch of the LIRR, with Kings Highway on one side and Brooklyn Avenue on the other. It was named for Admiral David Farragut, a Civil War figure, sometime after the neighborhood was carved out of old farmland.
